Jak II, known as Jak II: Renegade in Europe and Australia, is a platform game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. The game is a sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. It later received an HD re-released as part of the Jak and Daxter Collection.

The gameplay of Jak II is significantly different to the previous game. Weapons, power ups and vehicles have been introduced to the game. The player can unlock different mods for Jak's gun and upgrade it. New characters have been added into the game, even some characters from the previous game have made appearances.

Haven City functions as a game-hub, with various environments accessible from it. At Haven City, Jak can receive new missions by visiting various characters in the game. Jak can steal vehicles or use his hover board.

Jak also has a darker side to him known as Dark Jak. Dark Jak is more powerful and his melee attacks are more brutal.

The game gained praise from most reviews.

IGN gave it a score of 9.5/10 saying " Naughty Dog weighs in with heavy guns, a dark story and mature content and unlike much every other platformer, the story is filled with characters you either love or hate". Metacritic gave it 8.4/10. Entertainment Weekly gave it 83/100.
