PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a crossover fighting game featuring Sony exclusive characters.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is a fighting game with inspiration taken from Nintendo's Super Smash Brothers. Players can take control of over 40+ Sony exclusive characters (including DLC) and battle them out in an arena. The game features a single player arcade mode, in which players must defeat randomly selected opponents, followed by a character-specific rival battle and, ultimately, a battle against the game's final boss, Polygon Man. Each arena is based off each character's main game. ex. Jak's home arena is designed to look exactly like his series, Jak and Daxter.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was originally going to be developed by Naughty Dog, but Sony Computer Entertainment decided to give the job to SuperBot Entertainment. The development took over 3 years, due to Naughty Dog moving to another production, The Last of Us. SuperBot Entertainment had to develop the game from scratch, not knowing much about Sony's exclusive characters. They took the time to play every Sony Exclusive game for arena design and more.
